The District helped me put my life back together. There is something seriously special about this community — the house managers genuinely care whether you show up.
Adrianna T.
The District gave me the tools I needed to begin a healthy life. Accountability, sober role models, and a safe house to process my trauma — not a hospital bed.
Alec F.
This sober living community gave me peace and helped so much with my sobriety. The house made me comfortable enough to start working on myself.
Abby L.
This is by far the best sober living community our family has encountered. I feel part of my nephew’s success is due to the structure he received here.

What District sober living looks like in Orange County (East)

Orange County (East) is dense, diverse, and practical: five District houses where county services, courts, transit connections, and a large employment market sit close, and where recovery meetings are plentiful, including many in Spanish. That inland location trades salt air for shorter drives to the job centers, and the coast becomes the reward for a good week: the Huntington Beach pier and Central Park, the wetlands of Bolsa Chica, Newport's piers and harbor islands, Crystal Cove's tide pools, and the Laguna, Dana Point, and San Clemente coastline farther south. District men's and women's sober living houses are separate, and we describe the area only after admissions screening, never as a public street address. Pets may be allowed under house rules.

  • OC Bus Rapid Route 560 runs along Westminster Boulevard and 17th Street between Long Beach and central Orange County, about every 24 minutes on weekdays (roughly 6 a.m.–6:30 p.m.).
  • Multiple OC Bus routes serve the county's main regional transportation center, including connections for Route 560.
  • Metrolink's Orange County Line and Inland Empire–Orange County Line, plus Amtrak, are within reach for jobs toward Irvine, Anaheim, and Los Angeles County.
  • Route 64 on Bolsa Avenue and Route 70 on Edinger Avenue link the area west toward the coast.

The area and its neighbors offer county-government support roles, warehouse and logistics work, restaurants, healthcare entry jobs, and retail, and a nearby community college adds school-and-work combinations for residents rebuilding education. House expectations center on honest employment or an active job search, with help navigating background questions and building a weekly grid that includes meetings and any court or treatment obligations.

Getting to outpatient treatment from Orange County (East)

Sober living in Orange County — District properties in Orange County (East) are recovery residences, not outpatient clinics. PHP and IOP programs operate throughout Orange County — Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Anaheim, and Irvine are common destinations by car, or by train plus a short bus leg. The central, inland location often reduces drive time compared with living only at the coast. Residents coordinate clinical schedules with house managers so curfew, testing, and chores stay intact. Admissions discusses realistic commutes from a specific home after screening; we never promise on-site therapy.

Calling for someone you love?

Tell admissions who you are calling for, whether they need detox first, and which part of Orange County matters for work or family. Ask what an honest screen covers before anyone sees a street address — our choosing guide lists questions families use.

From first call to move-in

    Call or send the form

Same day if you need a bed this week. Tell us the part of Orange County you searched from — Irvine, Anaheim, Costa Mesa — so we start with the closest house.

  2. 2

    Honest screen

Who it is for, work or school, court, and which District area is the best fit.

  3. 3

    See the house

We send current photos of the actual bed — and a house walkthrough when we have one ready. Street addresses stay private until screening.

  4. 4

    Move in

Rules, testing, chores, and a first-week plan (meetings + job or school) before anyone unpacks.

Sober living in Orange County (East)

Does The District operate sober living in Orange County (East)?

Yes. We run structured sober living homes in Orange County (East) for young adults. Street addresses are shared only after a confidential admissions screening.

Is a District house a rehab or treatment center?

No. Our Orange County (East) properties are recovery residences: housing, accountability, drug and alcohol testing, transportation help, and job support. Clinical PHP, IOP, or detox happen at licensed programs elsewhere.

Do you have separate men's and women's homes?

Yes. Men's and women's houses are separate properties with their own house managers and rules. Admissions matches you to the home that fits your gender and current bed availability.

Can I bring a pet to sober living in Orange County (East)?

Pets are welcome at District homes when they meet house rules and the animal is a good fit for shared living. Tell admissions about your pet during the first call.

Why don't you list the house address on this page?

We protect current residents. Area and place context is public; exact addresses go to families and applicants only after screening.

Which other areas does The District serve besides Orange County (East)?

We operate sober living only in four Orange County areas: Orange County (East), Orange County (West), Orange County (Central), and Orange County (North). There is no District house outside those four areas.

Who is housing in Orange County (East) a good fit for?

Young adults who want structured recovery housing, can follow house rules, and are stable enough for work or school — not someone who needs medical detox or 24-hour clinical care on site.
